Home Solar Panels – Build Them Yourself!

Americans want solar power!

I was reading about some survey the other day which says that 92% of Americans think it’s important for the U.S. to develop and use solar power.  And it didn’t matter which political party they were affiliated with, they all felt the same way.

Of those surveyed, 49% said they were thinking about getting solar power for their business or home and 70% said they would be having solar power installed within 5 years.  However, only 3% said that they were already using solar power.

But can they afford it?

That’s the real issue. It seems that, although most want it, only a small percentage of people actually use solar power.

The reason is obvious, depending on how much electricity you want it to provide, the cost to buy and have a solar energy system installed can run you $40,000 or more for an average sized home. If you don’t believe me, try the solar and wind estimator located on my homepage http://www.newinfosite.com/.

What’s the solution?

So what can you do if you can’t afford that price tag? How about building your own home solar panels?

Most people believe you need to buy a solar panel system and have it professionally installed, but that is no longer true.  Think about it for a minute, is it really possible to make and then install your own home solar panels?

Fortunately, the answer is yes.

If you are truly serious about reducing your home energy costs, or concerned about the environment, or both, then why not get started and build your own solar energy system? All you need is the time and commitment to make this a reality.

There are already many tens of thousands of other people, from all over the world, who have built home solar panels and are benefiting from the advantages of their own solar energy system.

Amazingly, building your own solar panel system is not complicated. It doesn’t require any technical knowledge or special skills to accomplish. If you can use a soldering iron without burning the house down, you can build a solar panel.

The parts needed to build a single panel can be had for less than $200. If you plan to build many panels and buy in bulk, you may even be able to cut your costs in half. You can find the parts you need at hardware stores and on the internet.

Probably the single most important part you need is the instructions on how to build a solar panel. You can find a ton of info on the internet on how make them but, take it from me, most of them are incomplete and confusing and will leave you with more questions than answers.

That’s one of the reasons we added reviews of DIY manuals and videos to this site. Take time to read these reviews and you will find the guide that shows you the right way to build home solar panels.
